Information and Reminders!

 You are receiving this email because you (or your student) have signed

up for Jazz Band.  If this was a mistake, or you have changed your mind

we can adjust your schedule.


We will start Tomorrow (Wednesday, September 16)!


Regular Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 6:50am-7:35am


Entering the Building: You will need to enter the building at the main entrance

of the school (by the cafeteria). This will be the only door unlocked when you arrive.


Reminders:

-This is class - so attendance (including tardies) are taken daily and grades are given

-It is a full school year commitment 


More details will be given on the first day as we go through the syllabus.

Student Survey

As soon as you are able to, we need all orchestra and band students to take
two minutes and fill out this important survey so that we can plan our instruction
accordingly:  Student Survey

If you have a few extra minutes after that, we would love to have as many
students as possible to do this short music preferences activity:  Music Preferences

Below are your JAZZ BAND announcements for the week of March 30
We miss you and hope you are all doing well!
Nothing New - so here are last weeks reminders.
-ALL EVENTS/REHEARSALS/MEETINGS ARE CANCELLED UNTIL AT LEAST APRIL 13.  
We are in new territory, so as Certain things become clear we will communicate with you
-Students can check out The Well-Liked Podcast. Updates posted in Google classroom.
Mr. Liker and Mr. Wellfare have teamed up to create this enriching content for you that will 
attempt to keep you engaged in music during this time. Episode 4 and 5 will be released this week.
-Keep Practicing and having fun with music.
-Students: This is a tough time for everyone. Please reach out to us  if there are any supports

eNews: Week of March 16

Below are your JAZZ BAND announcements for the week of March 9.
-ALL EVENTS/REHEARSALS/MEETINGS ARE CANCELLED UNTIL AT LEAST APRIL 13.  
We are in new territory, so as Certain things become clear we will communicate with you
-Tomorrow (Monday 3/16) will be the only opportunity for students to pick up necessary items 
from the high school from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
I can confirm that orchestra/band students or their parents will be allowed to get their instrument during this time.  Your instrument represents a significant investment that you have made and it will be safer at home.
When you visit, the front office will send you down to get your instrument and expect you to return as soon as you have gathered your belongings to exit the building.  For everyone's health and safety, this will not be an opportunity to gather with friends or stay in the building.

-We will be providing what will hopefully be beneficial enrichment opportunities throughout the

eNews: Week of March 9

Below are your JAZZ BAND announcements for the week of March 9.
-We are Hosting MSBOA Jazz Festival this Thursday - March 12 from 9am-3pm. 
We will need student help during the day and a few parents to donate a simple crock-pot
Meai (i.e. Meatballs) for our judges.  Look for a seperate sign-up email soon.
-WE PERFORM at 9:10am in the FAC - Public is welcome - FREE
-Regular Rehearsal Schedule (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday)
-Chili cook-off is our biggest Jazz Event of the year on March 25!
-Chili Cook-Off is coming up on March 25! If you are able to help us find donations
For our silent auction look for a  sign-up for items to be emailed soon!
-Make Chili for the chili cook-off and win!  We need entrants.  Perfect your recipe
